A Look into AJ

With ordinary talent and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable.

Thomas Fowell Buxton

Writing has been a passion of mine since childhood, and I continue to write regularly to develop muscle memory of the written word. Whether working on blog posts, writing my novels and short stories, or focusing on research papers, I find myself wrapped up in the storytelling. Even scientific papers tell a story.

As a child, my dream was to become an English teacher. I hid in my room, enthralled in my books. These days, I spend my mornings writing and my evenings reading.

I am currently working on a BA in English at the University of Phoenix while balancing work, school, kids, and self-care.

Outside of the daily grind, I spend time with my husband and homeschool two of my three kids. I enjoy crochet and other art forms and can be found many Saturday nights at karaoke. I have enjoyed several live musicals, such as Wicked, and attended the Bolshoi Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake.

I love traveling, although I have had limited opportunities in recent years. One of my favorite vacations was to Leipzig, Germany. While there, I visited Thomaskirche (St. Thomas Church), where Johann Sebastian Bach was the music director for over two decades. Another favorite travel adventure was to Paris, France. The Musée d’Orsay has the most extensive collection of impressionist art, where I saw my favorite painting, Water Lilies by Claude Monet.
